The New World Cameroon Toro is part of the core New World line of products crafted by AJ Fernandez, who is widely regarded as a master blender. Released in late 2018, this blend combines a genuine Cameroon wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos—many of which are cultivated on AJ’s own farms in Estelí. While the original New World blend was full-bodied, this Cameroon version leans closer to medium strength, offering flavorful complexity without the aggressive intensity found in some of AJ’s other lines. This cigar is also characteristically box-pressed.

A Unique Wrapper

The Cameroon wrapper is delicate and often described as “toothy,” with visible pockets of natural oils that contribute to its signature sweetness. This specific wrapper leaf is medium brown in color and may occasionally show a faint grayish or greenish tint. The New World Cameroon is considered stronger than many traditional Cameroon cigars, which are typically milder and creamier in profile.
